Ethnic wear | Confused? A Quick Guide to style for different occasions

No matter how much we love wearing western outfits like jeans, shorts, skirts and all but there is always that excitement when it comes to ethnic wear. We all want to look glamorous in ethnic outfits but at the same time we prefer something simple and elegant. As the more simple the outfit the more it is easy to carry and more comfortable to wear.

In India, especially there are so many occasions where girls prefer to wear ethnic clothes. So many different festivals and even when it comes to wedding there are so many functions that take place, like Sagan, haldi, mehndi, sangeet, etc. And girls never feel like repeating in any function… Do they? We all wear outfits according to different functions that happen. As in, usually we wear according to themes of the function like yellowish on haldi, green on mehndi and so on.

When it comes to purchase of ethnic wear we all get confused from where to buy. According to me it’s better if we get them stitched from reputed boutique, usually it’s hard to get desired outfit. But if you want to purchase readymade only then there are several good markets at places like model town, rajouri garden, south-ex, kamla nagar. To be specific some of the boutiques that are best in model town are riwayat, the bliss, femina, ethnic town and several more, also you can buy online as well on websites like www.limeroad.com, www.craftsvilla.com

  MINT GREEN OFF SHOULDER DRESS

ethnic wear

This is mint green colour off shoulder straight dress. This was not readymade dress, I gave it in a boutique and specially told the designer to keep it as simple as possible. So they gave golden patches on bodice part and rest is plain net. Tassels are also attached with same patches on them in chunni. Wearing a watch will give an elegant look. Along with that, you can also carry a clutch.

  MAROON COLD-SHOULDER DRESS

Or you can also carry a simple clutch with that. Originally it’s a lehenga. This was also designed outfit not readymade one. The best part that I love about this one is the colour combination.

  NEON GREEN ANARKALI

Now it is a neon green Anarkali suit with golden and black border. I love the shade it gives. Black colour in it completes the classy look of this suit. You can wear a watch with it else there is no need to wear anything the border only completes the look.

  SUIT WITH PLAZO

This is a simple suit with white plain embroidered plazo. I selected the cloth material from cloth shop in model town then got it stitched from boutique. Those cloth triangles give this suit unique look along with those splits that are very much popular these days. I wore this outfit on dushhera festival.
